Difference between modern western culture and ancient vedic culture Modern scientists have done great research with respect to externals in human existence. The basis on research was human physical body. Sages in vedic times had researched on internal aspects of human existence. Western advancement gave thought to external beauty where as vedic munis (sages) gave importance to beauty. Because of external research the basis of western development was body and money. Meaning of the word ‘Krishi’

In sanskrit every word has a root dhatu (word). In word krishi the dhatu is kru. From this dhatu word akarshan has come. Akarshan means attracting. So krushi does not only means growing of crops as is done today and is called agriculture. Krushi means growing crops in such a way that it attracts the solar energy. So all the practices in vedic were done with this thought and not like in modern way. Also with this in mind we see the important role of cow in vedic Krushi (agriculture). (more…)

Meaning of the word ‘go’ (cow)

The sanskrit word ‘go’ means sun or sun ray. ‘go’ also means earth and cow. Go (vedic cow – http://mgdas.com/2010/04/vedic- ow/ ) is called so because it absorbs suns energy. Then it passes of that suns energy to us in form of milk, dung, urine and dust of her feet. Same solar energy is passed on to earth via cow dung and urine.
