Ayurvedic description of Cow Urine and it’s medicinal use

Hare Krsna!

Ayurveda is the medical branch of Vedas. “braham vakya janardanam” – Vedas have emanated from Lord Brahma’s mouth. They are for welfare of everyone. Therefore they are also called aptopadesh i.e. advice by near and dear ones. Cow urine makes one disease free by its prabhav (nature). Prabhav means inconceivable power. “Acintya shakti iti prabhav”. Prabhav is that power which cannot be conceived and described or analysed. Qualities of cow urine are stated in ayurveda.

PROPERTIES: Pure, toxin destroyer, germicide, balances bile, mucous and air (kapha, vata, pitta), controls evil spirits, enhances brain power. Even if  drank alone it can destroy all diseases. All other qualities are described further.

Virya: ushma virya hai – the end effect on body after intake is warming in nature.

Vipak: katu hai – when it goes in stomach and reacts chemically it produces pungent taste after digestion.

It is destroyer of all sins (diseases). Even research in America has proved that the stomach of a cow always contains vitamin B.

It is in the mode of goodness. It brings goodness in thoughts. By drinking it regularly for six months, man’s nature comes in the mode of goodness. It destroys mode of passion and ignorance to a great degree. It purges out toxins from the whole body through urine, sweating and excreta. It is destroyer of psychological diseases. In ayurveda it is said:

  • “gavyam pavitram ca rasayanam ca pathyam ca hrdyam balam buddhi syata ayuh pradam rakt vikar hari tridosh hridrog vishapaham syata”

Translation: Cow urine panchgavya is a great elixir, proper diet, pleasing to heart, giver of mental and physical strength, enhances longevity. It removes all blood disorders. It balances bile, mucous and airs. It is a remover of heart diseases and negates the effect of poison.

I am writing this to share my experience.

About two and half months back a friend Mr.Amit Nila strongly suggested that i start taking cow urine to improve my health.Although the concept was new to me I gave in to the genuine concern of my friend. After a few weeks (8-10) I realised that the lipoma( a benign tumor composed of fatty tissue ) on my left cheek had gradually and significantly reduced to about 2cm from 5cm.Prior to this i had consulted reputed Physicians and Skin specialists associated with leading hospitals in Mumbai only to be told that there is no cure the only thing one could do is opt for surgery to remove it.However it was not just one on my the last few years it had appeared on my chest, forehand and back too.Surgery didnt seem a very nice option to me However intake of cowurine has definitely helped me. Those with lipoma can look at cow urine as a healthy and natural way of dealing with
