COW GHEE – THE NECTAR

Hare Krsna!

Cow, ghee and nectar are not just three words but have great importance attached. In Vedic scriptures ghee is termed as nectar i.e. elixir. Since ghee has no word in English, I would like to use the Sanskrit word ghruta. It increases longetivity and good health. But in modern days, scientist are calling ghee, milk etc as poison. Also we have observed ,those who consume milk and ghee are becoming sick and are also getting modern diseases like BP, heart attacks etc. Why is this happening? (more…)

A couple of days back, newspaper in Punjab reported that an American company — World Wide Sires Ltd — is planning to provide high-quality semen to dairy farmers. Some days back, I had heard that the Kerala Minister for Animal Husbandry was thinking of importing some improved cattle breeds from Denmark for cross-breeding with the local cows.

I was born in the year 1983 5th November, and was residing at BARC colony Anushaktinagar, Mumbai.  All trouble started when I was 5 yrs old. I was suffering from ear pain & asthma due to which my parents and I had many sleepless nights.  In the year 1997, I suffered from diplopia i.e a disease in which each object is seen as two objects. In our Vedic culture, cows are very sacred and are given respect tremendously. Divine kamadhenu cow appeared during churning of ocean.

In Vedas, the glories of cows are profusely mentioned. The main purpose of Vedas are not only to offer sacrifices to worship supreme lord but also to his representatives .The whole world is maintained and nourished by sacrifices. All the ingredients of sacrifice come from holy cow. Again, in absence of sacrificial offerings etc cow’s milk is one of the most important ingredients. From Mahabharata Anushashan parva – Chapter 51

Once upon a time there was a sage name Chayavan, who was a great Tapasvi and also the son of Bhrugu Rishi .Once he undertook a vow to remain inside water for meditation. He wanted to give up attachment, anger, pride, pain, pleasure, sorrow etc. He was inside the water for 12 years and meditated. Seeing this austerity and nature of great soul all the living entities inside the water became his friends and had no fear from him. Once this great saint entered the confluence of Ganga and Yamuna rivers with great faith and humility. At times he would perform Samadhi inside water and sometimes float on water.
