Various Cow Products VIII – Cow Cream for Applying

GAUMAY MARHAM (COW CREAM FOR APPLYING)

Ingredients: –

• Find powder of cow dung cake: 500 Gms
• Geru (Red ochre, Red clay): 400 Gms
• Cow urine salts: 100 Gms
• Nila thotha (Copper Sulphate (Blue vitriol)): 50 Gms
• Petroleum jelly: 1000 Gms

Preparation: –

First grind Copper Sulphate (Blue vitriol) and then roast in a small deep pan. Take it out when its colour changes to white. Then grind all dry substances in a very fine powder. Then mix all items and grind them in a grinding pot while slowly adding the petroleum jelly. Afterwards fill it in bottles. If it gives burning sensation in case of application in sensitive parts of body, rub a little bit of ghee (clarified butter) to reduce the sensation on the affected part.

Uses: –

In skin diseases, wash the infected part by cow urine and then apply this ointment 2 to 3 times daily.

Advantage: –

Beneficial in skin diseases, ringworm, itching, eczema, psoriasis, infected wounds.

Note: – Do not apply on eyes.
